The black background of the center patch and rockers were designed as a constant
reminder of our fallen brother and sister officers. The rockers contain purple lettering with
a gray stitching around each letter as well as around the border of each patch

The name LAW DOGS is a slang term traced back to the late 1800's, it was used by
outlaws to refer to peace officers whose primary function was to enforce the laws and
capture law violators.

The center patch in the shape of a police shield, to make it easily identifiable as law
enforcement officers, depicts an American Bull Dog named, "JUSTICE" who is clad in his
leather cap and leather jacket. The American Bull Dog was chosen for its characteristics.
He is alert and inquisitive, bold and fearless, without being hostile or overly aggressive.

The top rocker, LAW DOGS and the CENTER PATCH are both Registered Marks of the
LAW DOGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB INCORPORATED and their use shall not be granted
without the expressed written consent of the LAW DOGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB INC.

Note: There is another LAW DOGS MOTOR CYCLE CLUB that chooses to use our name
in violation of the United States Patent and Trade Mark laws. We have been in contact with
this club and have extended an invitation for them to join the ranks of the original LAW
DOGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB. They refused our offer as we do not allow non Law
Enforcement personnel in to our club. Understandably they would probably lose many
members should they have accepted our offer. We do understand their dedication to their
members and respect them for their decision. We in no way mean to disrespect any clubs
members who are not actual Law Enforcement Officers. We understand and appreciate the
job they do. These are just the rules of our club. We just ask that they respect our rights and
stop using our name.
While three police officers from West Haven, Ct  were working the midnight shift,
conversations began about starting a law enforcement motorcycle club that would offer
law enforcement officers, with the enthusiasm of riding motorcycles, a sense of
camaraderie, brotherhood and the opportunity to RIDE.  After many hours of ideas and
research, the Club Colors were finally decided and in September of 1996, the LAW
DOGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB became a reality.
